Our linen is sourced from Fabrics-store.con. All their flax is grown and processed throughout Eastern Europe and OEKO-TEX certified. The OEKO-TEX organization tests l products for over 100 harmful toxins and chemicals before approving them for public use. This is known as Standard 100 and you can read more about it here: https://www.oeko-tex.com/en/our-standards/standard-100-by-oeko-tex
Fabrics-store.com also believes that social sustainability, the way they treat their employees and the people involved in creating their linen, is just as important as the way they treat our environment. Independent evaluators randomly audit various aspects of production to assess the manufacturing process against requirements set forth by the relevant European and American government standards.

Our Organic Cotton & Organic Hemp is sourced from Envirotextiles.com. All Cotton and all Hemp is certified organically grown by Control Union according to the NOP National Organic Program and GOTS Global Organic Textile Standard certification. It is not possible to certify a garment to be organic, it is only the fiber from a plant that can be certified, like food products. Fiber is from a plant that can be certified if required, such as for the growing practices of cotton due to the harmful amounts of pesticides and herbicides. Other certifications for our COTTON YARNS are “Global Organic Textile Standard” GOTS for the processing of fibers from certified organic agriculture. All of our textiles are naturally dyed, with materials that are kind to the earth. Sourced from either reputable suppliers or wild-harvested ourselves.
-
In our effort to push sustainability further, exhausted dye baths post textile dyeing are used to make natural inks and watercolors. This eliminates production waste. Textile scraps are all saved and used for our smaller one of a kind products. We also frequently send scraps to doll makers, quilters and patch workers.
